Some advice follows on how to reach Verona and the Arena from Lake Garda.
BY CAR
How to reach Verona from the various towns on Lake Garda? Easy!
The roads that connect Verona with Lake Garda are often very fascinating and suggestive and it’s worthwhile driving along them to the A4/E70 motorway if you’re on the west bank of the lake or A22/E45 if on the other hand you’re in the east bank. Alternatively, you can take one of the lake’s ferries that carry cars to move easily from one bank to the other.
Once you reach Verona, all you need to do is decide where you prefer to park: outdoors, in various areas of near the old city centre indicated with blue lines, or indoors, in one of the car parks that you can also choose on this page.
BY TRAIN
If you want to travel by rail to visit the neighbourhood of Lake Garda, the best thing to do is go to Desenzano or Peschiera del Garda, on the south bank of the lake. In fact, the two towns’ stations are strategic stops on the Milan - Venice line and enable to travel on Regional and Freccia (Arrow) trains going towards Venice.
The Verona station reached by trains coming from Desenzano or Peschiera is Verona Porta Nuova, the city’s main railway station.
From here, it is then possible to decide where to move on foot, by taxi or by bus, thanks to the ATV urban lines, or using car sharing or bike sharing facilities.
If at the end of the show you decide you would prefer to stay overnight in Verona, check the offers and promotions available on www.veronabooking.com!
BY BUS
The utmost efficiency, convenience and practicality is ensured by the ATV suburban-lake line, which connects towns such as Garda, Bardolino, Lazise, Peschiera, Malcesine, Brenzone and Torri del Benaco with Verona with the following lines:
LINE 164 (Garda - Bardolino - Lazise - Peschiera - Verona)
LINES 163 - 185 (Garda - Bardolino - Lazise - Verona)
LINES 483 - 484 (Malcesine – Brenzone – Torri del Benaco and change at Garda with lines 163-164-185)
Moreover, the terminus is precisely Piazza Bra, which hosts the Arena di Verona.
Returning after the show won’t be a problem: in the months of June, July and August, in the occasion of all the Arena Festival evenings, there is an evening service that connects the Arena di Verona with the towns on Lake Garda.
The OperaBus Service leaves from the Piazza Cittadella bus stop 30 minutes after the end of the show and goes to Castelnuovo del Garda, Peschiera del Garda, Lazise, Bardolino, Garda, Torri del Benaco and Malcesine.
