Yusif Eyvazov, an Azerbaijani dramatic tenor, completed his music education in Italy where he perfected his skills with Franco Corelli and Ghena Dimitrova. He performs on the stages of the biggest international theatres.
In 2017, he was awarded the title of “People's Artist of Azerbaijan” and released the new cross-over album Romanza with Anna Netrebko.
Recent performances include Manrico in Verdi's Il Trovatore at the Paris Opéra, Radamès in Verdi's Aida at Teatro Real in Madrid, Maurizio in Cilea's Adriana Lecouvreur at Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Mariinsky in St. Petersburg, Deutsche Oper in Berlin, and the Salzburg and Baden-Baden Festivals; Calaf in Turandot and Dick Johnson in Puccini's La Fanciulla del West at the Metropolitan in New York, Verdi's Un Ballo in Maschera in Berlin, Herman in Tchaikovsky's La Dama di Picche in New York and Moscow, the title role in Verdi's Don Carlo in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Dresden; Don Alvaro in Verdi's La Forza del destino at the Royal Opera House in London; Calaf in Vienna and Munich; Canio in Leoncavallo's Pagliacci at the Los Angeles Opera; Faust in Boito's Mefistofele at the Prague State Opera; and the title role in Verdi's Otello at the Ravenna Festival.
He made his debut in Verona at the Teatro Filarmonico in 2015 in the role of Turiddu in Mascagni's Cavalleria rusticana.
At the Arena di Verona he made his debut in 2016, called in to perform in Verdi's Aida as Radamès, a role that he reprised in 2017 and 2018. In 2019, he played the role of Manrico in Il Trovatore.
In 2020, he participated in the event Le Stelle dell'Opera, and in 2021 in the new productions of Cavalleria rusticana, Pagliacci and Turandot.
He returns to the Arena di Verona for the 100th Opera Festival 2023, to open the season as Radamès in Stefano Poda's new production of Aida and to make his debut as the Duke of Mantua in Verdi's Rigoletto directed by Antonio Albanese.
